Western USA - Captivating Canyon Escape

DAY 1  

Depart London Heathrow and arrive on your international flight to Phoenix.  Here you will collect your hire car and drive to Scottsdale to enjoy the evening at your leisure.

DAY 2 

Travel through dramatic red rock scenery to Sedona and continue to Grand Canyon National Park before checking into your hotel next to the South Rim.

Take a flight in a  helicopter from Tusayan, just south of the rim. This will give you a far better sense of the Canyons depth and scale. You will pass over the more heavily forested North Rim, as well as the Dragon Corridor- the widest and deepest section of the Canyon.

Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

DAY 3

Grab an early start today to catch the magical sunrise over the majestic Grand Canyon. Learn about the canyon's history and ecology with a geologist before travelling through the Navajo Reservation to Lake Powell for an elegant dinner cruise.

DAY 4

Take a guided boat tour from Wahweap Marina at the Lake Powell resort, where you will have the opportunity to view the narrow and colourful sculpted geology of the lower end of Lake Powell. The tour takes in the Glen Canyon Dam, The Antelope Canyon, and the Navajo Sandstone.

DAY 5

Take a short but exciting ATV ride through the Ponderosa pine forests to the rim of Bryce Canyon National Park. This guided tour will get your adrenaline pumping, but will also provide you with views of a pristine alpine landscape, Bryce Canyon and fresh clean air. Enjoy a tour of the hoodoos- thousands of red, pink and tan sandstone spires and pinnacles.

The view at Bryce point is spectacular, probably the best viewpoint in Bryce National Park.

DAY 6

Today head out to the Zion National Park. We recommend taking the Zion Shuttle, it travels through six miles of the most popular canyon road with seven stops in between.

Spend the day exploring Zions dramatic peaks and rock formations.

DAY 7

Leaving the Canyons today and travelling across the Mojave desert to glittering Las Vegas.

As you reach the city its distinctive skyline rises out of the Nevada desert like a mirage. Once you have checked in you can enjoy your hotel's facilities or try your luck in one of the many casinos.
