DAY 1 - Chicago

Today your journey begins by boarding your international flight to Chicago.
On arrival make your way to your hotel in the heart of the city. The Omni Chicago.
You have the rest of the day to begin exploring this famous midwest metropolis, perched on the shores of Lake Michigan.

DAY 2 - Chicago
|
|
You will start your day with an architectural tour of the city, enjoyed from a boat on the Chicago River.
You will float pass over forty key Chicago sights and impressive skyline vistas.
You will have the rest of the day at your leisure to explore the city.
Take in the sights of Millenium Park and "Bean Sculpture" and don't forget "The Magnificent Mile" a mecca for shopping and the heart of Chicago's dining scene.

DAY 3 - Chicago to Springfield
|
|
Today your collect your bike and we head out of the city into rural Illinois, the starting point of Route 66.
Your destination today is Springfield Illinois which is around a 5-hour drive. The city is famed for its long association with Abraham Lincoln who is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
There are plenty of photo opportunities today on your drive including the Gemini Giant, Swinging Bridges, The Bunyan Giant and the colourful murals in Pontiac.

DAY 4 - Springfield to St. Louis
|
|
Your journey southwest continues, today you travel only 100 miles but be sure to allow plenty of time for pit stops as you pass by some notable icons of Route 66.
Look out for The Auburn Brick Road: an original brick topped stretch of the original Route 66.

DAY 5 - St. Louis
|
|
A full day to explore St Louis, known as the " Gateway to the West".
We recommend a visit to the Gateway Arch a spectacular landmark on the banks of the Mississippi.
If you are feeling brave you can travel 630 feet to the top of the arch and enjoy the stunning views of St Louis and the Mighty Mississippi.

DAY 6 - St. Louis to Joplin
|
Early risers will have the opportunity enjoy a morning view of the famous St. Louis Arch and Mississippi River before we're back on the road.
Enjoy the rolling Missouri hills and make this area unforgettable.
Tonight we'll stay in Joplin. Joplin was hit by the huge tornado in 2011.
Enjoy a drink with the locals and hear stories of what it was like to be in the eye of the storm.

DAY 7 - Joplin to Oklahoma City
|
|
Your next Stop is Oklahoma City in Oklahoma. You'll be driving through hills and horse country Today's drive will take you around 4 and a half hours.
Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your leisure. We recommend the Oklahoma City National memorial- A Moment in time Illuminated tour.

DAY 8 - Oklahoma City to Amarillo
|
|
As you leave Oklahoma City today, it is a straight shot west through Yukon, El Reno, Bridgeport, Hydro, Weatherford, Clinton, Elk City, Erick
The Mother road then crosses the Texas state at Texola near Shamrock and then onto Amarillo.
When you arrive in Amarillo we recommend a visit to the Palo Duro Canyon the USA's second-largest Canyon.
If you are feeling hungry after the drive maybe try the72-ounce steak challenge at The Big Texan Steak Ranch.

DAY 9 - Amarillo to Santa Fe
|
|
Say goodbye to Texas and hello to New Mexico today.
Pass through the famous Cadillac Ranch on your journey to 'The Land of Enchantment'
Visit the ghost town of Glen Rio and stand one foot in Texas and one foot in New Mexico.
We're here for two nights with plenty of opportunities to soak up one of Americas oldest and most beautiful cities.

DAY 10 - Santa Fe
|
|
Enjoy a day at leisure in Santa Fe. Take in the southwestern architectue or why not play cowboy for the day along a canyon trail?

|
DAY 11 - Santa Fe to Gallup
|
|
Today - Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Cross the Rio Grande and the old road towards Mexico.
You'll be amazed as you ride into open country and Navajo wilderness. Ride along Cibola National Forest towards the famous old railway town of Gallup.
Stay at one of the many biker friendly hotels.

DAY 12 - Gallup to The Grand Canyon
|
|
Today, you will never forget.
It's a day full of stunning and spectacular scenery and most-do Route 66 stops.
Cross into Arizona toward the Petrified Forest National Park. Discover the stunning landscapes and get lost in this massive area.
Now onto Wigwam Hotel and stand on the corner of Winslow. Do something different here. Most tours will head for Flagstaff but we'll spend our night only one mile from the South Rim of the amazing Grand Canyon.
Tonight, watch the sunset over the Grand Canyon!

DAY 13 - Grand Canyon to Laughlin
|
|
This morning take a once in a lifetime helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon!
Ride onwards on Route 66 through Seligman, hackberry and Kingman on our way to Laughlin on the shores of the Colorado River.

DAY 14 - Laughlin to Las Vegas
|
|
Your journey towards Las Vegas today allows the opportunity to follow an original stretch of Route 66, where you will pass derelict gas stations and old Motels overgrown with foliage. As you approach Las Vegas you might like to visit the impressive Hoover Dam that impounds the Colorado River.

Day 15 - Las Vegas to Victorville
|
|
Cross the final state line of your journey into California.
Today you'll see some of the most amazing and dramatic landscapes in Southern California - The Mojave Desert.
You'll pass traverse this amazing region passing Joshua Trees, cactus and volcanic rock. This is your final night on the mother road.

DAY 16 - Victorville to Los Angeles
|
|
Complete your epic trip along Route 66 as you drive the final 300 miles of your journey.
Head towards the Pacific Ocean as you come to the 'End of the Trail' sign on the Santa Monica Pier. Celebrate the epic journey you've just completed in Californian style.

You will have the day at Leisure to explore Los Angeles.
There is something for everyone here, whether it's hiking in the Hollywood Hills, browsing boutique shops on Rodeo Drive or visiting film and television studios.
